OOOHHHHH!!! Kismet and Roxie got their video posted on purina’s website! i’m soooo proud!! this is our nightly routine before they get to eat their dinner. Check it out and make a comment about how damn cute they are!!

HK and i have houseguests this week, our friends Ken and Terry from the ‘hood in Atlanta. Yesterday the boys and i rode bikes out to UBC to tour the campus and go to the beach there.

We rode through beautiful Jericho beach and dog-friendly Spanish Banks beach along the way. here’s a pic of me.  ken shoulda told me to take my helmet off–it looks so goofy!

One of the women we’re renting the house from loaned me her bike and helmet–that was soooo cool! her bike is a beach cruiser, with just the one speed and pedal brakes.  it was sooooooo hard climbing up the hills on that bike, the boys had 5-speeds, so they pretty much kicked my ass going uphill.

It’s downhill all the way to Wreck beach.  Lots and lots of wooden stairs lead down to a wide, sandy beach where about 85% of the thousand people there were all-over tanned and bare-ass naked.  It’s Vancouver’s largest “clothing optional” beach, and was full of (more…)

OOOOHHHHHHH!!!! today was fun! an old friend wo was my best friend in the 2nd-4th grades (and wo lives about 3 hours from vancouver) came to visit me today. actually, she was here on business, but we pre-arranged our timing, so we got in a good day-long visit.  for any of my old (really old) harlan, ky friends, it is sylvia currie, who lived on ivy street.  here’s a shot of us.

Willy and the Boyz

Willy and the Boyz

Last week, HK and I went up to Lynn Canyon Provincial Park to do some hiking. We didn’t take the pups, because we planned to hike too far for them to be comfortable. They love the little yellow house on the corner (where we’re staying in vancouver), so they were OK chilling out for the day.  Willy and the Boyz, however, did make it, as you can see in the above photo.

Lynn Canyon has a beautiful suspension bridge, which swings and bounces at 150′ above a roaring river.  (being a chicken-shit, I held tightly to both cables and screamed at HK when he made it swing).

We hiked down a steep gorge, and were being passed by a bunch of runners. We asked what was going on, and one guy who was walking along with us for a bit explained (more…)

welcome

Kismet here–i finally have enuf energy to post a new blog about Kismet and Roxie’s xcellent adventures. i gotta tell you, my dogs are barkin!  hahahahaha! that’s people-speak for my feet hurt and i’m worn out! Yesterday, mommy and daddy took us to stanley park, one of north america’s largest urban parks.  at 1000 acres, it’s 20% bigger than central park in nyc. ( i’ve never been there, but mommy say’s it’s super-nice).  anyway, we circul…naviget…we made a big loop around the whole park on the seawall–that’s 5 1/2 miles, and then we explored (more…)

Roxie here–OMG–we had an almost brush with the law this week!  so here’s what happened…

We were waiting for our ferry to take us back to mainland Vancouver and killing some time at this cute little beach that was off the beaten path. there was just us and 2 other couples there-one had a nice big black dog that was having fun swimming in the channel.

SO mommy throws the stick in the water, and i’m telling you, it was cold!!! Wayyyy too cold for me, so i grabbed the stick and ran up to the lawn area with daddy.  At exactly that moment, (more…)

When we were at Schooner Cove on Vancouver Island this weekend, we were the ONLY one’s on the beach.  We played and played. Like this!
